This standalone jewellery studio in Wellington’s Kaiwharawhara is a perfectly contained space that provides peaceful isolation for an artist’s needs, separate from the bustle of everyday living in the adjacent home. Positioned on the existing deck, the studio is designed for future adaptation into additional accommodation. The studio form is kept very simple, with working benches on two sides to allow ample space for specialist equipment. With carefully positioned windows to look onto a bank of green vegetation, the studio harnesses natural light for optimal working conditions.
