Buscomb Ave Apartments

Henderson, Auckland

Back to projects

A fifteen-storey apartment building, Plus Pacific Tower, in the Auckland suburb of Henderson.

With its prime position on the corner of Great North Rd and Buscomb Avenue, the building has three retails spaces, vehicle access to the car stacker and a central lobby providing access to its 67 apartments above.

48 new one and two-bedroom apartments as part of the Kiwibuild scheme; two and four-bedroom options for the open market.

The design is based on a limited pallet of materials consisting of dark grey metal panels and white-painted concrete. Timber, inset within the apartments’ winter gardens, provides an overall softening to the exterior finish. The choice of materials and quality detailing also cleverly conceals the building’s services.

The form of the building is generated from its strong base from levels 1–10. The upper levels feature striking white-painted, concrete fins and glass cladding and are recessed to allow them to sit lightly on the base.

All apartment layouts are specifically designed to optimise sun and views, with north and west-facing living spaces that look onto the streetscape and stunning views towards the Waitakere Ranges.

The building is comfortably and sensitively positioned within its neighbourhood.
