Residential & Commercial Architecture in Queenstown, Wānaka & Central Otago
HMOA's Queenstown Wānaka studio is led by director Matt Robinson, a registered architect with over 20 years of experience in both residential and commercial architecture. Matt relocated to Wānaka from Auckland and oversees projects across the Queenstown, Wānaka and Central Otago region. Read a Q&A with Matt about the move.
On commercial projects, Matt and the team have a strong track record in multi-unit apartment developments and mixed-use projects. Recent projects include Sero Apartments, Buscombe Ave Apartments (2022), and Rose Rd Apartments (2024), as well as social housing projects for Kāinga Ora. Matt brings experience in project management and business development, making him well placed to work with clients from initial concept through to completion. Before joining HMOA, Matt worked on large-scale commercial and multi-unit developments at Plus Architecture, Leuschke Group Architects, and RTA Studio.
For residential projects, the studio works with homeowners and developers on new homes, renovations, alpine retreats and holiday houses. Matt is currently designing a new Wānaka House. Duval O'Neill is based in the Christchurch studio and also works on Central Otago projects. He has recently completed renovations to Arrowtown House.
Whether you are a homeowner, a developer or a commercial client, get in touch with Matt to discuss your project.
