Landscape Rd Apartments

The design for these social housing apartments required careful planning on a limited budget. 

The three-level building for twelve one and two-bedroom walk-up apartments was designed to meet strict Kāinga Ora guidelines while optimising light and space for its tenants. There are eight onsite car parks. 

Floodplain and geotechnical challenges had to be overcome. Due to subsoil conditions, and following thorough consultation and several iterations, it was decided the building would have a timber structure – an interesting and challenging direction for such a large, multi-unit three-level building.
